Aedan Shepard and her story is my current obsession but I wrote the Sebastian Vael/Aeryn Hawke fic, Shelter. The sequel, Steal Away Home is still a wip.

Every Aedan Shepard story that is (roughly) polished and set in time is collected in series under L’essai et Repose over at Ao3. It’s evolving constantly at the moment, though most of the stories currently published will only go through a little polish editing as I rework them into the arc.

Some background: Zoe Shepard is a Colonist/War Hero and Alliance Infiltrator whose hardened/guarded heart was biotically warped by her Lieutenant during ME1, remaining his from the moment she realized she’d fallen. Fighting without him by her side always feels wrong. It’s a bit of a miracle that Kaidan fights as well as he does with those hearts in his eyes though.

@jaderavenarts it’s part of a pension case I worked on transcribing for a national archives project. Someone was not given a pension on the grounds that he had deserted to the British army, and his argument was that he had been captured and conscripted against his will. The government claimed essentially that he was there for too long and thus didn’t try very hard to escape.
This is the testimony of a British soldier stating that he had indeed been part of capturing the guy.
Omg what a wild claim! It’s so cool to see how much info can be gleaned from pension records, they were a great source for me when writing about the Battle of Harlem Heights and Thomas Knowlton’s eldest son Frederick Knowlton. Thank you for sharing your work!
His glance brushes past her lips and it’s like she’d used cinnamon chapstick instead of her usual. The tingle persists even as she finishes her coffee, as she rinses the cup under the tap. Kaidan’s well out of the mess and she’s moved on to a datapad spread of reports when it occurs to her. It’d be nice. A kiss in the morning to book end that last kiss before he left her.
